A principios de junio tenía claro que al cabo de un mes podría disponer sin demasiados problemas de un iPhone 3G, así que me propuse vender el por aquel entonces apreciado iPhone de 16GB a un usuario del foro con el que tuve el inicial placer de quedar con él en persona para hacer el trato. Y digo inicial placer porque al final la cita se convirtió en un horrendo incidente que dio inicio a toda una abultada serie de fatalidades que vienen durando hasta hoy, y que a más de uno hubiera hecho aburrir a este teléfono y al padre que lo parió. Puesto que hace ya unos cuantos días de dicho incidente y porque no hace falta desvelar la identidad de esa persona voy a narrar brevemente lo que pasó. Quedé con él después de comer, justo antes de ir a trabajar, en una localidad que daba la casualidad debía visitar por motivos estrictamente profesionales. A la cita acudimos ambos puntuales y al cabo de pocos minutos empezamos a reírnos mientras contábamos anécdotas del foro. Cuando nos despedíamos, ocurrió lo que nunca debió ocurrir: Aún sin yo haber cobrado (el dinero estaba aún el bolsillo del comprador), el iPhone, que llevaba ya un buen rato en sus manos, sucumbe repentinamente a la fuerza de la gravedad para acabar haciendo un triple mortal hacia adelante con el resultado de rotura y rascadas varias ante la atónita mirada de ambos. Mi iPhone, que había cuidado entre algodones, sin una marca visible habiéndolo usado durante semanas, me daba la impresión que acababa de pasar a mejor vida. Ambos palidecimos, me entregó el importe pactado, comprobamos que aún funcionaba y nos despedimos. Después de este desagradable suceso han pasado tres meses enteros durante los cuales he intentado de todas las formas posibles hacerme con un iPhone 3G. La dejadez de Apple y Movistar con los que somos de pueblo, junto con la poca cantidad de dispositivos enviados a Barcelona, hacía imposible hacerse con uno. Finalmente, y habiéndoseme acabado totalmente la paciencia, me registro en Yoigo, donde ya tengo una cuenta de datos para el portátil, para portar mi número y el de mi mujer. Es un hecho ya comentado en el foro, el que me llamaran de Movistar a los dos días para cancelar la portabilidad a cambio de regalarme un iPhone 3G de 8GB, con la modalidad de contrato que yo prefiriera. Una de las condiciones que pongo es que me indicaran un centro donde acudir a comprar uno. Vé a El Corte Inglés de Girona, que seguro tienen. Llamo el viernes. Tenemos, me dicen, pero no reservamos. Oiga, que vengo el sábado a las 10. Si el viernes a las 22 aún tenéis, a las 10 del día siguiente seguro que hay. Así es, me responde. Así que acepto el trato y me quedo con Telefónica. Filed under: Handsets, Apple fsjk85 at the Australian Whirlpool forums was playing around with his camcorder's NightShot function when he found something interesting -- a hidden data matrix code on the left side of the iPhone 3G. We're guessing that's where Apple imprints the serial and IMEI numbers of each handset since it can't exactly hide them under a removable battery (cough), but we'll leave it to the rest of you to decode this sneaky tag and solve the mystery once and for all.Update: We just got a much higher-res image of the code -- check it out after the break.
