Treo 680 Retired at AT&T
In what should come as little surprise, the Palm Treo 680 smartphone has just been EOL'd at AT&T according to a newly leaked company document obtained by the Boy Genius Report. The document lists both the standard and crimson colored 680 as end of life. The nearly two year old GSM device has largely been superseded by the trendier Palm Centro, which nearly matches the device spec-wise with a smaller package and lower price point. The Treo 680 debuted on AT&T (then Cingular) back in November 2006. It sold for $199 with a two year contract and data plan. The leaked AT&T roadmap is also notable for what it does not mention in the upcoming "launch column". There are no references to any other upcoming Palm devices, which is not a good sign for anyone holding out for a carrier subsidized Treo Pro.

According to AT&T chief technical officer John Donovan, iPhone 3G users were using a “relatively high” amount of data as compared to [...]
Unlimited Push-to-Talk Service by AT&T
Here is an unlimited Push-to-talk plan courtesy of AT&T. For only $5 per month, AT&T can enjoy the PTT service with no limits, and yes, it is practically 50% down from its original price. This price decrease brought AT&T side-by-side with Verizon (which also dropped PTT rate to $5) in terms of price race. To date, [...]

AT&T to get Palm Treo Pro this year?
Palm has confirmed that their Palm Treo Pro will be officially released to a US carrier, and we presume the most likely candidate will be AT&T, although obviously it is too early to be guessing at pricing and availability. Palm’s Treo Pro is only just now beginning to ship as unlocked form to US customers who [...]

Yesterday at Goldman Sachs’ Communacopia XVII conference, AT&T’s chief technical officer John Donovan stated that iPhone 3G users have used much less data on the network than expected. No explanation was given, but aren’t the reasons pretty obvious? All of the connection issues along with 3G reverting over to the Edge network is what I’m [...]
Omnia coming to AT&T soon
The recently-leaked AT&T lineup was pretty interesting for TamsPalm and TamsS60 - the boys at PocketNow’s have managed to undig one more interesting thing. They claim that the Samsung Mirage i907 (scheduled to launch Oct. 21st) is the US GSM version of the Samsung Omnia i900; a device praised for its high-quality camera. As of now, little [...]
